THE JEWISH COALITION FOR LITERACY, SAN FRANCISCO, 2005-2006
Volunteered my services as a reading specialist, assisting low-income students who had reading difficulties at Bryant Elementary School in San Francisco.

ENGLISH TEACHER IN PRIVATE PRACTICE, SAN FRANCISCO, 2001-2004
Provided private English instruction to foreign students, with a focus on reading, writing, speaking and comprehension.

SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY, 1998-2001
American Language Institute at San Francisco State University: Taught reading, writing, speaking and comprehension to beginner through advanced-level students. The curriculum included introduction to academic skills, with an emphasis on increasing students’ fluency and accuracy, as well as helping them develop strong interpersonal and social skills.

American Language Institute at San Francisco State University: As a Senior Teacher, responsibilities included mentoring student teachers, supervising curriculum planning, and giving feedback on presentation, classroom management and lesson planning skills, as well as evaluating student teacher performance.

SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY, 1999
Learning Assistance Center at San Francisco State University: Provided remedial reading and writing support for freshmen who were far behind their grade peers. Tutoring included overall reading strategies and fluency skills, idea development for writing, essay organization, proofreading, and study skills training.
